Please read this page in full before booking a private session.
These terms cover what can happen in your body during breathwork and somatic work, what we ask of you as a client, and how your privacy is protected in a one-on-one setting. By checking the box when you book, you're confirming you've read this page and agree to the terms below.
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern participation in any private, one-on-one session, including breathwork, somatic coaching, and mindset coaching ("Session"), offered by Mind Body Connection Lab, operating under More Joy LLC ("MBCL," "we," "us," or "the practice"), whether held in person or virtually. Booking a Session, submitting payment, or checking the acknowledgment box at booking constitutes acceptance of these Terms.
Active breathwork uses conscious, connected breathing patterns that can bring on strong physical and emotional sensations. Somatic and parts-based work may also bring up memories, emotions, or body sensations. Depending on the technique and your own body, you may experience:
These responses are common and generally pass on their own once normal breathing resumes. You're always in control of your breath and your pace; you can slow down, pause, or stop at any point during a Session.
Active breathwork is a powerful practice and isn't appropriate for everyone. You must consult with a physician or qualified healthcare provider before participating if any of the following apply to you:
Participation in any Session is entirely voluntary. You understand that breathwork and somatic work involve inherent physical and emotional risk, and you're choosing to take part with full knowledge of that risk. You agree to listen to your body throughout a Session, to breathe at a pace that feels right for you, and to tell your facilitator right away if you feel unwell, unsafe, or want to stop.
MBCL facilitators are trained in breathwork and somatic facilitation but do not act as medical providers, therapists, or first responders. In the event of a medical emergency, your facilitator will contact emergency services.
For virtual Sessions, you agree to join from a private, safe space where you can sit or lie down comfortably; never while driving or operating anything that requires your full attention. You agree to share your physical location at the start of a virtual Session so help can be sent to you in an emergency.
By participating in a Session, you release Mind Body Connection Lab, More Joy LLC, and their owners, facilitators, employees, and agents from any claim, liability, injury, or loss arising from your participation, to the fullest extent permitted by law. This release applies to physical injury, emotional distress, and any pre-existing condition that may be affected by breathwork or somatic practice. This release does not apply to harm caused by gross negligence or intentional misconduct on the part of MBCL.
Private Sessions are not photographed, filmed, or recorded by MBCL. What you share in a Session is held in confidence and will not be shared with anyone outside the practice without your written permission.
There are limits to that confidentiality. Because MBCL does not provide licensed clinical services, Session content is not protected by legal privilege the way communication with a therapist or doctor may be. MBCL may also disclose information if there is a serious and immediate risk of harm to you or someone else, or if required by law.
Out of respect for the space, you agree not to record any part of a Session, in person or virtual, without your facilitator's advance written consent.
MBCL will never use your name, story, or words in a testimonial or any marketing material unless you give separate, written permission first.
Cancellation, rescheduling, and refund terms for your specific Session or package are outlined at the time of booking. MBCL reserves the right to reschedule a Session due to facilitator illness or circumstances beyond our control, in which case you'll be notified as soon as possible and offered a new date or a refund.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your participation in a Session will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York.
MBCL may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your booking is the version that applies to your Session.
By checking the acknowledgment box when you book, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms, including the health disclaimer, assumption of risk, release of liability, and privacy terms; that you are voluntarily choosing to participate; and that you have consulted a physician if any of the listed conditions apply to you.
